I haven't posted in a while, have been working on some digital collages while coming up with illustration ideas for my partner's book. This is my most recent collage that is an homage to all things that fly, but also one of my favorite Cowboy Junkies songs.
Some elements are culled from the Public Domain Review botanical/entomological texts. Some are vintage illustrations of birds, insects, trees, etc. There is also a Gila Woodpecker feather. Was hoping to add more physical elements to this project as it evolves or as I find them on my hikes.
